40000 Xiaomi Redmi 1S units set to sell out in seconds on September 16

Each week, new shipments of the Xiaomi Redmi 1S are brought out by Flipkart, and each week, thousands of units get sold out within a matter of seconds. The sale on September 16 is expected to be no different now that the Chinese company has announced that 40000 units of the phone will be put up for purchase on the said date.
That’s because even the first two sales had the same number of devices up for grabs and they were each over in less than 5 seconds. Priced at Rs 5999, the Xiaomi Redmi 1S is quite an exciting proposition as it comes equipped with components that are usually part of higher priced smartphones.

It features a 4.7-inch display which spews out its visuals in 720p HD resolution. This Xiaomi handset bears a Snapdragon 400 chipset carrying a quad core processor and 1GB worth of RAM. There’s an 8MP rear camera with flash onboard as well, apart from a 1.2MP front-facing snapper meant for selfies and video calling.
